I recently bought this TV to replace (like so many others) a Mitsubishi DLP. I wasn't interested in a top of the line TV - to me LED wasn't a priority, nor was 3D. I simply wanted a good priced, quality LCD that would properly produce clear HD 1080p resolution. When I came across this TV I was very hesitant to place the order, as there were simply no reviews anywhere. At the size and price it seemed too good to be true. After a few weeks of enjoying the TV I can happily report that I have not been disappointed at all!

However, this TV is certainly not for the hard core techies out there. If you're the type to worry about comparing contrast ratios, refresh rates, and 3D then this probably won't satisfy your needs. Although this TV is listed as an LED, the picture produced is really just a true LCD resolution. I've had this TV for about a month now. The picture quality is very good. It's also a nice looking TV. For the price, I think it's a great deal. The problem, however, is that the internet connectivity just doesn't work well at all. It doesn't really bother me, since I have other devices that can stream netflix and other services. Plus, the 55sl412u, which is the model without internet connectivity, is actually more expensive.

I'm actually on my second TV. I ended up exchanging through Amazon. Unfortunately, the second TV has the same problem that the first one did. The issue is that whenever I connect the TV to the internet, the controls will completely freeze after a few minutes. The TV stops responding to the remote and to inputs on the panel itself. The only thing it will do is turn off after 15 seconds if I press the power key. Connecting over wireless makes the TV stop responding much more quickly than over ethernet. We had been looking for a 55-inch LED TV for a while, but the prices for most models were kind of high, in the $1500 range. We were thinking to wait for a little longer for the price to go down. Then I found this one, which is several hundred dollars less than comparable models from other manufactures. I was a little shocked by the price (thought I wouldn't see a price in this range until Christmas or Thanksgiving). We have been enjoying this TV for the past couple of weeks without any single problem. This TV is very thin as expected, just like other LED TVs. The sound could be a concern to some people, but I think it is an unavoidable issue for most LED TVs due to the thickness as well as the desire to hide the speakers. Who cares since most of us have an extra sound system (be it a simple sound bar or a home theater system). The picture quality is very good. It give us all crispy pictures with a good contrast.
